Ceramic and thread: the beautiful collision of two worlds.
Our recently launched edition of handmade embroidery pays tribute to the great cultural legacy behind the ancient ceramics of Talavera de la Reina, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. The edition features placemats and napkins embroidered by artisans in the city of Talavera de la Reina and the neighboring towns of Herreruela and Torrico. The placemats have an octagonal shape based on the original design of the traditional 8-sided plates called “ochavados”. We thank the City Council of Talavera de La Reina for their support and enthusiasm in this project.
