OUR TECHNIQUES

ILOEMA products are created using traditional embroidery techniques.

Tejidillo

A style of embroidery following geometric patterns which uses the counted thread technique, and which is sewn on the back of the fabric. This is a double-sided technique.

Drawn thread

A technique based on fretwork patterns, performed by removing threads from the fabric and stitching over the pre-prepared area.

Counted thread

A sophisticated, demanding technique which consists of counting the threads and matching the number of stitches.

Motif

A motif is drawn onto the fabric which is then filled using two types of stitching: chain stitch and satin stitch.

Lattice

Net stitch (made from loops produced using a needle) over which a variety of stitches are sewn, leaving the net as a background.
